Near Sint Willibrordus, National Park Rif St. Marie-Hermanus brings together salt flats, limestone terraces and wooded hills on Curaçao’s western side. Walking through the area gives you changing views across the landscape, with flamingos regularly seen feeding in the neighbouring Jan Kok lagoon.
There’s history along the paths, too. An old lime kiln, the ruins of Landhuis Rif Sint Marie and a traditional well offer glimpses of how people once worked and lived here. Take time to notice these remains alongside the trees and water. They’re part of the story of this landscape.
