Tafelberg’s flat topped silhouette is easy to recognise, but the full moon hike gives you a reason to see it up close. The outing takes you to the Proa viewpoint for sunset, then continues into the evening as moonlight changes the landscape around you. Watching that shift from daylight to darkness is a big part of the experience.
This is a proper walk, with the organised route covering around 8.5 kilometres over roughly three hours. Expect a physical challenge and uneven ground, with time to pause and take in the views. You don’t need to be an experienced hiker, but you should be comfortable spending several hours on your feet.
Every participant needs a headlamp. Wear hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers with good grip, and bring a small backpack with water and snacks so your hands stay free. Arrive ahead of the scheduled departure; sunset won’t wait for the group.
Check the organiser’s calendar and book ahead for the full moon hike. It’s a different way to spend an evening on Curaçao, with the trail, the changing light and the view giving you plenty to remember.
