New Year’s Day in Curaçao is one big outdoor celebration that starts in the afternoon and builds into a night of music, festivities, and fireworks. The party hotspots - Punda, Pietermaai, Mood Beach, and Jan Thiel - fill up with people ready to celebrate. Restaurants, bars, and festival plazas are packed, and live bands play everywhere. Many larger venues hold ticketed events, which sell out quickly, so it’s wise to plan ahead. The Queen Emma Bridge is a local favorite, with crowds filling both sides of the harbor for a free concert. And at midnight, the whole island lights up as fireworks burst from over 30 locations, creating a dazzling show in every direction
