Bario Urban Street Food

The Bario Hotel's food area is eclectic, electric, and infused with an artistic vibe that its owner Kurt brilliantly conjured up by arranging food container restaurants around a common ground. The result is that there is something for everyone on one or more of the menus. Brightly painted and bestowed with bespoke and vintage furnishing, Bario has a charm and energy of its own. It compels you to wander and explore the grounds, taking Instagram photos as you go. The tables are thoughtfully crammed together creating a shared community vibe that will soon have you talking with your neighbor and exchanging numbers. From the small open concept stalls, you'll find a variety of local street food with an international twist and taste, plus craft cocktails with fresh local fruits, made from scratch! Each window has its own theme, that shifts and morphs with a semi pop-up rotation of chef teams. Sit back and enjoy the yard party celebration of Curaçao. Kurt and the Bario want people to experience local food, history, music and art. Come by and enter a different world!

Located in the heart of Blue Bay Resort, this restaurant offers a unique wine selection and international cuisine. The menu is updated often to highlight fresh produce, locally caught fish, and ingredients carefully selected by the chef. The seaside location and contemporary/casual ambiance also make Bayside a great choice.

Cascada Rooftop Bar + Kitchen

This is the very first rooftop lounge in Curacao, designed with a 360° view of the city from the Infinity Pool and a trendy Miami style vibe. It’s the perfect perch on Thursday Firework Nights. You can chill out and enjoy Mixologist Masterpieces to sip on, whipped up by the awesome Bar Crew. Catch the sunset with friends around a lounge table or book a Date-Night Table. The appetizer menu puts a culinary spin on high-end comfort food, with Chicken Wings to die for, and the Dinner Menu is full of palate pleasers. There is always a delicious Vegan Pasta in rotation, and if you are into Meat, we would suggest the Seared Skirt Steak! Cascada is a great venue to host a Corporate Event, Birthday Party, Anniversary, or any Special Event you have coming up, as the Owners Karan and Kunal are very hands-on, and will help make your evening special. TIP: There is often a DJ spinning tunes, or Live music, or a pool party, and on any holiday they are sure to throw a great party!

Coast at Blue Bay

Here you can find Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner in a relaxed atmosphere right on the beach with great views of the Blue Bay. Coffee, Fresh Juice, Smoked Salmon Croissants, Omelets, Avocado Smash, a Granola Bowl or Mediterranean Breakfast in the morning- there is something for everyone. The lunch menu has Hamburgers, Mushroom Burgers, a variety of Salads, Smoked Salmon...and at dinner they have full course meals of Steak, Chicken, Fish, Pasta, Veggies…so you can plan to be here any part of the day and find something from sunrise to sunset. If you have a large group we recommend you make reservations in advance, as this is a very popular spot.

Crazy Mediterranean

Small take-out spot, that serves a variety of Mediterranean and International Dishes. You can also order some Tapas and Platters and their Vegetarian Dishes are also great! Esther is an excellent chef and the proud owner of her place. Catering options are also available. Tip: Have a glass of Wine next door at Servir Frais by Arie after you order some snacks by Crazy

De Gouverneur

The view is to die for! Sit on this amazing Restaurant balcony and breathe in some fresh wind from the sea, while overlooking the Queen Emma floating foot-traffic bridge with its glowing lights and iconic colorful buildings across the bay. It’s a very large venue, with a wide variety of culinary treats and old-school faves, all prepared with confidence and consistency. Try Chef Jeroen’s famous Cuban banana soup, charcoal cooked proteins...and don't miss out on their own 'Gouverneur' beer. There is a great Bar area where the Bartenders shake and stir high-end Cocktails with style. Such a great Staff here that we think rock. TIP: Try to get a table on the balcony to enjoy the ‘Punda Vibes Fireworks’ on a Thursday night!

De Heeren

This De Herren has a completely different vibe than its sister restaurant, De Herren at Sea. In fact this one has more of a gentleman’s club vibe. At any time of day, you’ll find the powerbrokers of the business world rubbing shoulders in this relaxed atmosphere. There is a throwback old-fashioned energy here that is curious, unusual, and strangely compelling, like you are being let in on a secret by just sitting here. You can meet here for a Coffee, a Drink, a Snack, a Meal – everything is open game – and everyone of note in town wouldn’t meet up here, all day long, if the fare wasn’t consistently fine. At night there is often Live Music, which adds even further to the vibe.

De Heeren at Sea

Want to kickstart your day? Look no further than De Heeren at Sea, squeezed in behind the Scuba Lodge Hotel, where you can treat yourself to Breakfast with a front-row seaside view and Freshly Brewed Coffee. At Lunch you’ll find all sorts of Soups, Salads, Sandwiches, and Hot Entrees – though we love the huge Seafood Plinth for Sharing. The Sunset Dinner Menu runs the gambit of Steaks, Fish, Seafood, Pastas, and we really like their Shared Menu Plinths…and they concoct great Cocktails here too. TIP: Talk to the Bartenders and they’ll give you the talk of the town.

El Grill & Mexicano

A family style Mexican Restaurant with a fun fiesta flair. They have everything you would expect to find on a Mexican menu like Burritos, Tacos, Nachos, Quesadillas, Fajitas...and a lot of things you wouldn’t expect to find, like Vegetarian versions of all those classics, plus Burgers, Truffle Pasta, Caribbean Sea Bass, etc. Located just off Mambo Beach, this is a popular venue to visit during a day at the beach or the Sea Aquarium and Dolphin Swim. There is a kinetic energy inside and out, making it a great casual Date Night Spot, and they also have super long tables for large groups or family dinners. Order some Tequila shots or a Margarita and get into the spirit of Mexico, served up here.

Fusions

It’s a Restaurant & Bar, located a short drive outside Willemstad. They have a huge menu - 150 menu items - but who’s counting? What we love is that it has one of the largest lists of Vegan and Vegetarian items on the Island - so Bravo! They also have a good wine selection. The Air conditioning is normally turned high, which makes for a cool escape on a hot day. The venue is often booked for Events and can accommodate a large party at long tables, with ample parking. Sometimes things seem to be running on ‘Island Time’, so relax and order one of the Bartender’s great Mojitos.

Ginger

This restaurant is a favorite of ours, and of many people on the Island. It is a cozy venue, hidden away on the popular enclave of Nieuwestraat in Pietermaai. Ginger specializes in delicious Carib-Asian-Indian fusion Cuisine. They have a delectable selection of Hot & Spicy Food, Noodles & Rice Plates, Curries, Stews and a good number of Vegetarian and Vegan options. Reservations are available online until 7pm the same day.

Lemongrass Bistro

This Restaurant has great hours (7am - 11pm and open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) and has a wide variety of high-end food on their menu, as well as a lot of popular comfort food. Located in a centuries-old plantation house right on the Blue Bay Golf course, they have a spectacular view across the fairways and greens to the ocean beyond. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a popular 19th hole for Golfers, but you certainly don’t have to like golf to enjoy this venue, it’s great.

Mundo Bizarro

This Cuban-inspired restaurant / bar is a little bit of everything in a slightly eccentric, artistic and stylish way. Start your day with a cup of Coffee there, and your evening with a Mojito at their awesome mosaic-tiled bar. Kick off your shoes and dance the night away to their famous Live Latin Music ‘Salsa Night Thursdays’ when the party spills right into this popular street. You should definitely put this on your ‘must visit’ list. Tip: You can take some great Instagram shots here in one of their throne seats or on the little balcony on the second floor.

Soi 95

This is another one of our favorite restaurant / bars on the Island that we love to recommend. In a blue building across the street from the Avila Hotel you will find this eatery that has a wonderfully dark dining area and a rooftop deck cinematically strung with hanging lights. Both areas are great, and it just depends on your mood, but this venue is very popular so book ahead. And it is popular because of the menu of Asian/Thai Fusion tapas sized meals that are truly inspired culinary dishes that we can’t stop coming back for - and we bet, neither will you. The menu changes, but every time it does, everything on it is absolutely stellar and there is something for everyone, including the Vegetarians and Vegans in our crowd. Not only is the food inspired - the bartenders are cocktail magicians, conjuring up some of the best and unique flavor profiles. We love to let them suggest something new to try...as nothing here has ever disappointed us - and we visit often.

Tandoori Heights

This is one of those hidden gems that everyone on the Island should know about, and anyone visiting who likes Indian food should try. Even if you have never eaten Indian food, we think you’ll like it - our friends have all enjoyed this spot. It is located steps from Kura Hulanda on the top of the Curacao Suites Hotel. Go through the lobby and up two flights of stairs and you’ll come to a huge open patio restaurant with a wonderful view. The service is friendly and one of the staff can explain any of the menu items to you. Indian food, of course, is perfect for sharing, so this is a great place to take friends or family. We highly recommend it.

This brightly colored restaurant is the newest venture by Demetri and Maura, the dynamic brother team behind the ever-popular Sal the Kitchen. The concept is simple here - ‘Street Tacos’. The seating is mostly outdoors, on picnic tables and high-tops. The atmosphere fits perfectly with the casual street vibe of the eateries on Nieuwestraat. Thursdays are the most kinetic evenings in the area, and the restaurant fills up, so make a reservation ahead of time.
