Guenn Ramon Gustina A true multidisciplinary artist, Guenn Ramon Gustina moves between music, poetry, photography, dance, and visual arts. Calling himself a poeta krioyo (Creole poet), his artistic journey began with music, singing in a group called Angelitos as a child. Born at sea in 1948 to a Dominican mother and Curaçaoan father, Jean Girigori has spent her life immersed in the Caribbean’s rich artistic traditions. She lived in Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and Haiti, where painter George Paul Hector encouraged her early talent. Her first exhibitions took place in Haiti, followed by shows in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. This mural brings together the distinct styles of two Curaçao-based artists: Melissa Vijay Bharwani is the artist behind Dhan Arts and the creator of Skadey, Curaçao's Official Cat. Inspired by her own cat gazing at the island’s iconic Handelskade, she began painting these unique feline figures, each adorned with the vibrant waterfront scene on their backs. You can explore her creations at Copperstone in Punda. Jhomar Loaiza is one of Curaçao’s most prolific muralists, with his work found all over the island.
